Room Size
When shopping for a bed, the most important thing to keep in mind (besides your own comfort, of course!) is the size of your bedroom. We recommend measuring the size of the room to make sure there’s enough space for the bedframe, as well as nightstands and other furniture you might want in your space.
Our rule of thumb? To factor in three feet of space around the bed to make sure there’s enough space to move around.
Mattress Thickness
Once you’ve landed on the size bed frame that’s right for your space, the next step for many is choosing the right mattress. We always recommend keeping in mind that mattress thickness can affect the overall height of your bed to choose one that complements your bed frame and other furniture, such as nightstands.
Future Needs
For most, the purchase of a bed frame is a (very) long-term purchase. That’s why we recommend considering your long-term needs when choosing a bed frame, because a bed that suits your current situation might not be ideal in a few years!
