Bedding Industries of America (BIA) has launched full-scale domestic production of its Millbrook mattress
collections, transitioning all six models from partial importation to complete U.S.-based manufacturing. The move is
aimed at reducing delivery times while maintaining the high-quality craftsmanship associated with the British-made
brand.
Previously, BIA produced three of the Millbrook models domestically with added latex components for the U.S. market,
while importing the higher-end versions directly from Millbrook’s facility in Southampton, England. With this
shift, all models—including the premium Windsor—are now being manufactured in two of BIA’s three
U.S. facilities.
“The Millbrook Windsor collection has always been one of our top performing luxury offerings and our ability to
make this move underscores the level of craftsmanship and high standards that the BIA plants offer,” said Phil
Carlitz, Chief Operating Officer at BIA. “This is really an endorsement of BIA that our people are able to
fully replicate the quality of this venerable English brand.”
The domestically produced Millbrook mattresses retain the visual and structural hallmarks of their UK counterparts,
including the signature black tufting on a white cover and the use of natural materials such as Hampshire wool,
imported from England. The Windsor model features between 6,000 and 8,000 stacked 4-inch pocketed coils and is
crafted using all-natural, chemical-free materials with hand-stitched sides. It carries a suggested retail price of
$6,000 for a queen size.
Carlitz noted that the decision to shift entirely to domestic production was driven by both rising international
shipping costs and retailer demand for faster delivery. The change has reduced lead times from nearly six weeks to
under one week, aligning with dealer expectations for quicker fulfillment.
The full Millbrook Windsor collection will be showcased at the upcoming High Point Market in BIA’s showroom,
located in the Crown Mark Plaza, 200 E. Green Dr., Floor 4.
