Maple bacon in the Ninja air fryer is perfectly crispy candied bacon with a hint of maple sweetness.
This crispy bacon is better than regular bacon because it is cooked in the Ninja Foodi air fryer basket in less cooking time than it would take in the oven. Bacon slices are coated in a light maple syrup mixture of pure maple syrup and a little coconut sugar for a sweet crispy treat.
See how easy it is to make Ninja Foodi bacon. This method of cooking bacon is great because the pork bacon cooks in the air fryer basket and does not sit in the bacon fat. The excess grease drains out of the bottom of the basket leaving a sweet crispy texture that you will love.

The Ninja Foodi air fryer is a great way to cook thick-cut bacon or even thin slices of bacon in less time with easy clean up.
What You Will Need To Make Air Fryer Maple Bacon
To make candied maple bacon in the Ninja air fryer you only need three simple ingredients. You will need bacon, maple syrup, and coconut sugar.
- 10 oz package of nitrate-free bacon, appx 10 slices of bacon
- 3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tsp coconut sugar
When it comes to bacon, I either like to go with nitrate-free Applegate brand bacon from the grocery store or thick-cut heritage bacon from CrowdCow.
For the maple syrup, make sure to use pure maple syrup. And for the sugar, I always like to use coconut sugar, because it tends to be a cleaner healthier sugar option, and is lower on the glycemic index than brown sugar. But you are welcome to use brown sugar if you’d like.
You will also need a Ninja Foodi. We have this Ninja Foodi, and love it! The Ninja Foodi can be found online here: Ninja Foodi. You can also find different models and sizes of the Foodi with different capabilities online here: Ninja.
How to Prepare Candied Maple Bacon for the Air Fryer
First, preheat the Ninja Foodi air fryer at 390 degrees F and allow it to warm up while you prepare the bacon.
Then transfer the bacon strips to a small bowl. Add the maple syrup to the bowl with the strips of bacon.
Next, add the coconut sugar to the bowl.
Toss thoroughly to coat. Make sure that each bacon piece is coated in the maple sugar mixture.
How Long to Cook Bacon in a Ninja Air Fryer and Ninja Air Fryer Bacon Temp
At this point, the Ninja air fryer should have had 3-5 minutes of preheat time.
Place the coated bacon in the air fryer basket.
You do not need to arrange the bacon in a single layer. We will shake the bacon plenty of times to make sure that hot air in the air frying process cooks the bacon to perfection.
Close the air fryer lid, select air crisp, and set the temperature to 390 degrees F.
Next, set the cooking time to 15 minutes, and press start.
When making candied air fryer bacon in the Ninja Foodi you will need to open the air fryer lid and toss the bacon in the basket every 3-4 minutes. Use silicone tongs to do this, to avoid scratching the air fryer basket.
The thickness of the bacon may alter the cooking time slightly. If you are using thin cut bacon your maple bacon should be done between 14-15 minutes. Thick cut bacon should take 15-16 minutes.
When the bacon is finished and removed, you can see that the bacon grease and leftover maple syrup will all fall through the holes of the air fryer basket into the Foodi pot. This leave you with perfectly crispy bacon.
You can save the bacon grease for future cooking if you’d like. This ceramic bacon grease container is adorable! Bacon Grease Container.
Maple Bacon in Ninja Air Fryer
When done, remove the candy bacon from the air fryer and set aside.
This is the perfect recipe for any bacon lover. It combines my two favorite things: salty with a little bit of sweet.
This delicious bacon is crispy without being greasy. The sweetness is a mild maple flavor without being overly sweet.
Serve this candied maple bacon recipe with all of your favorite breakfast recipes.
Do not put the cooked bacon on a paper towel. The stickiness of the maple syrup will stick to the paper towel and your bacon will be ruined. Store leftover in an airtight container for 3-5 days in the refrigerator.
