First, fill the bottom pan of your poacher with about half an inch of water. Bring this water to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

I find that 5 minutes is perfect for me, but you may prefer yours cooked differently, and it may take a few tries until you find that egg poacher cooking time sweet spot.

Then use a small spatula, and gently remove each perfectly poached egg from its cup. A silicone spatula is ideal. It easily slides under the egg, is gentle enough to prevent scratching the cups, and maintains whole egg yolks.

Serve immediately. If you used too much oil in the cups you may want to dab the cooked eggs on paper towels before serving to remove excess moisture.
