2024 IFDA Rising Stars
The New York Chapter of the International
Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA NY), the 77-year-old global design industry alliance, announces its Rising Stars Award Event on Wednesday, September 18 at the Scalamandré Showroom, 979 Third Ave, Suite 1002 in New York
City. Lorraine Lang, Executive Vice President of Design for the textile powerhouse will serve as master of
ceremonies for the evening.
“We developed the Rising Stars Award as a way to support the new design talent and underscore our dedication to
education and the future of our industry,” said Jennifer Munich and David Santiago, IFDA NY
co-presidents. “IFDA’s mission through its programs and services is to enhance the professionalism and
stature of the industry worldwide.”
There is one Product Design Honoree and three Interior Design Honoree, details below:
- Product Design Honoree: Stephanie Ogé, SOGÉ DÉCOR
A Brooklyn native, Ogé is the creative force behind SOGÉ
DÉCOR. With nearly a decade of experience as a fashion designer in New York City, her journey
took a transformative turn during a life-changing trip to Jaipur, India. There, she discovered the art of
natural dyeing and block printing, sparking a deep passion for textiles that inspired her to create the SOGÉ
brand. A visionary designer, Ogé finds inspiration in the raw energy of the city, the intricate
patterns of ancient tile work, the unique prints in vintage clothing and her extensive travels around the world.
This eclectic mix of influences is infused into her signature prints, which are made with meticulous attention to
detail and proudly crafted in the USA, with each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
- Interior Design Honoree: Avery Johnson, Avery Johnson Interior Design
Avery Johnson is the principal designer at Avery Johnson Interior
Design, where his exceptional design instincts and fashion background uniquely shape his approach to
creating stunning spaces. With a deep understanding of style and an eye for detail, his expertise lies in seamlessly
blending luxury with comfort, resulting in environments that are both stylish and lived in. Johnson’s
commitment to excellence is evident in every project as he meticulously creates custom pieces, selects rich textures

- Interior Design Honoree: Judith Heimowitz, 7BDesign
Judith Heimowitz of 7BDesign believes in modern luxury for everyday life,
balancing function and beauty. Inspired by travel, art and color, her work ensures that clients live
effortlessly in style, pushing them just beyond their comfort zones to create spaces filled with color and pattern
that they couldn’t envision on their own. She prioritizes materials that are functionally appropriate for the

- Interior Design Honoree: Antonio DeLoatch
Antonio DeLoatch with an eponymous firm name is a New York interior
designer with a love of the California sun. Living in New York City and California with a global state of mind
equals the best of both worlds. DeLoatch gets up every single day to curate a home that serves you so can go out and better serve the world. For him,
taking a non-functional space and transforming it into the most popular room or space in the home is a dream come
true. He has tackled projects ranging from studio apartments in Hong Kong to estates in the Hamptons and
sprawling ranch homes in Ojai, California. DeLoatch embraces the transformative power of a curated, holistic space
