Turning has always been a bit intimidating for me. My lathe currently sits in the corner of my shop, unused, because I can’t seem to find the time to add yet another woodworking skill to the rotation. When I was an apprentice in Philip Morley’s shop, he made a jig very similar to this, that used a plunge router to replicate the same size legs for a coffee table. You can make these straight or curved, depending on your preference. This YouTuber’s sled is for turning thin stock into rounds, but you can modify this design for your own preferences. I also found that using a 1/2″ round nose bit left a much nicer finish straight off of the router.
