Welcome to our new column, The Brass Tacks, in which we highlight the tiniest but mightiest details in the house: good-looking hardware, hinges, fixtures, and more.
The humble dustpan is not often an entrant in the Beautiful and Useful Awards, so to speak. Strictly utilitarian and often downright unsightly, the plastic dustpan makes a compelling case for the most overlooked, most tripped-over object in the home.
Not so of this particular design. Compact and efficient (our theme for this week), this an attractive, no-plastic dustpan hangs neatly on the wall when not in use—proof that there’s hope for even the most humdrum of objects.
